Pink Ink Tattoos - Tara Williamson
✨ Episode Overview
In this episode of Who We Become — Life Beyond Change, Amanda sits down with Tara Williamson, owner of Pink Ink Tattoos, to explore grief, advoacy, identity, survivorship, and what it truly means to reclaim your body after cancer. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at 39, losing her father during treatment, and fighting to have her voice heard in her own care decisions, Tara made a life-altering choice: she would not only rebuild her own life - she would help others do the same.
Together, they talk about self-advocacy in the medical system, the emotional impact of reconstruction, the often-overlooked experience of family members, and how Tara transformed a painful, disappointing moment in her own healing journey into a nationwide movement serving thousands of survivors.
This conversation is for anyone who has felt unheard, who is rebuilding after illness or loss, or who is searching for a way to turn pain into purpose.
👤 Meet Our Guest: Tara Williamson
Tara Williamson is a nurse, breast cancer survivor, early detection advocate, and the founder and CEO of Pink Ink Tattoo, a medical tattoo practice specializing exclusively in areola restoration, 3D nipple tattooing, and scar camouflage.
After undergoing a double mastectomy and experiencing an unacceptable final step in her own reconstruction journey, Tara decided women and men deserved better. She trained with the best in the world and built a practice rooted in dignity, artistry, and emotional care.
Today, Tara has tattooed thousands of survivors from across the country, travels to serve communities in need, advocates on Capitol Hill, and recently launched the Pink Ink Promise Foundation to ensure financial barriers never prevent someone from reclaiming their body.
Through her journey, she’s learned that healing is not just physical — it is emotional, relational, and deeply personal. And that sometimes, the best chapters are the ones written after everything changes.
